• Birth year, month, day, and hour (optional) — to calculate your zodiac animal and element
• Language preference — to display content in your preferred language
• Vegetarian day level — to show relevant observance days
• App usage data — interactions, time spent, content sections viewed
• Account information (if signed in) — Apple ID
• Purchase history — Sao Mai+ subscription status

How We Use Your Information

• Generate your personalized zodiac profile based on animal and element
• Provide daily guidance, fortune drawing, and compatibility features
• Send reminder notifications (if you opt in)
• Anonymous analytics to improve content quality
• Process subscriptions and payments through Apple

AI-Generated Content

Sao Mai's daily guidance and fortune content is generated by Anthropic Claude, an artificial intelligence system developed by Anthropic (San Francisco, USA).

How it works:

• Content is generated nightly on our servers
• No personal information is sent to Anthropic — only general zodiac animal and element types
• Content is based on traditional Vietnamese astrology principles
• For entertainment and cultural reference only, not professional advice

By using Sao Mai, you consent to the use of AI for generating guidance content.

Third-Party Services

Sao Mai uses the following services:

• Supabase (supabase.com) — Data storage and authentication. Servers in the US (N. California). Data encrypted at rest and in transit.
• Anthropic (anthropic.com) — AI content generation (Claude). Receives no personal data.
• RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) — Subscription management. Processes Apple transaction IDs.
• Apple — Authentication (Sign in with Apple), payments (App Store), push notifications (APNs).

Data Storage & Retention

On-device data:

• Zodiac profile, cached content, and fortune history are stored locally on your device
• Local data is protected by iOS Data Protection

Server-side data:

• Analytics data: retained for 24 months, then deleted
• User profiles: retained while account is active
• Subscription records: retained for 7 years (tax requirements)
• Deleted accounts: data purged within 30 days

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.

Children's Privacy

Sao Mai is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app includes an age verification step during onboarding. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, please contact us to delete the data.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export your personal data in a portable format
• Disable notifications at any time
• Withdraw consent for AI-generated content
• Use the app in guest mode without signing in

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States (where our Supabase servers are located). By using Sao Mai, you consent to this international data transfer. We ensure your data is protected to equivalent security standards.
